INAC 2026 – International Nuclear Atlantic Conference

The International Nuclear Atlantic Conference (INAC 2026) will take place from August 24 to 28, 2026, at the Escola de Guerra Naval (EGN), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Organized by the Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association (ABEN), INAC is recognized as the largest and most important event in the nuclear sector in Latin America, bringing together professionals from academia, industry, government, and research institutions from Brazil and abroad.

The first edition of the International Nuclear Atlantic Conference (INAC) was held in 2001. Since then, the conference has been organized every two years by the Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association (ABEN), becoming the largest and most important nuclear event in Latin America. For more than 25 years, INAC has served as a leading forum for technical exchange, professional networking, and institutional collaboration in the nuclear sector.

Under the theme “Nuclear Energy: Atoms for a Green Future,” INAC 2026 will provide an environment for the exchange of knowledge, technical discussions, and the strengthening of partnerships in areas related to nuclear energy and its applications in energy generation, health, agriculture, industry, environment, and technological innovation. The conference also contributes to the development of human resources and to the advancement of safe and sustainable nuclear technologies.

The technical program includes a set of traditional and well-established meetings that reflect the diversity of the nuclear field:

  • the XXIV Meeting on Reactor Physics and Thermal Hydraulics (ENFIR)

  • the XVII Meeting on Nuclear Applications (ENAN)

  • the IX Meeting on Nuclear Industry (ENIN)

  • the XI Junior Poster Technical Sessions, dedicated to undergraduate students

  • the XII ExpoINAC, the technical and commercial exhibition of the conference

In addition, INAC 2026 will host the Nuclear Ambassadors Award, an initiative promoted by ABEN to encourage communication and public engagement on the benefits and peaceful uses of nuclear technology. The award recognizes students, professionals, and educators who contribute to increasing public understanding of nuclear science and its role in sustainable development.

INAC has established itself as an important platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and collaboration across the nuclear community. The conference continues to play a key role in supporting innovation, strengthening cooperation, and promoting the safe and responsible use of nuclear technology.

We look forward to welcoming participants to Rio de Janeiro for an engaging and productive event.

XVII ENAN

The XVII Meeting on Nuclear Applications (ENAN) will take place in Rio de Janeiro from August 24 to 28, 2026. It is a well-established event focused on the latest scientific, technical, and social issues related to nuclear applications in Brazil and worldwide.
The XVII ENAN aims to attract academic audiences as well as professionals from industry, hospitals, and other workplaces who share an interest in radiation applications, providing a welcoming and inspiring environment for discussion and collaboration. The event is expected to serve as an excellent platform for discussing the latest advances in both conventional and innovative nuclear technologies with significant impacts on health, agriculture and food, the environment, industry, dosimetry, nuclear instrumentation, cultural heritage, radioactive waste management, and related fields.
The program of the XVII ENAN will include roundtable discussions and plenary invited lectures delivered by leading experts in their fields, enabling attendees to deepen their understanding of the latest research, technological innovations, and future challenges aimed at promoting the sustainable and safe development of numerous radiation applications.
Participants are encouraged to submit extended summaries of their original and unpublished research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the following areas:
E01 - Dosimetry and Nuclear Instrumentation
E02 - Applications to the Environment
E03 - Applications in Health
E04 - Applications in Industry
E05 - Applications in Agriculture and Food
E06 - Radioactive Waste
E07 - Applications to Cultural Heritage
Full papers based on accepted extended summaries presented at the meeting are encouraged for submission to a special issue of the Brazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences (BJRS), ISSN: 2319-0612, dedicated to INAC 2026, provided that they meet the journal’s peer-review standards.
The ENAN Organizing Committee believes that participants will benefit from this meeting and will also enjoy the unforgettable charm of Rio de Janeiro.

XI JR POSTER

The National Undergraduate Research Program aims to inspire and empower undergraduate students to enter the world of scientific research, actively contributing to the creation of knowledge under the guidance of experienced researchers.

More than supervisors, these researchers serve as mentors and educators, directly strengthening teaching and research in higher education. The program seeks to spark scientific vocations, identify emerging talent, and prepare participants for graduate studies—driving the renewal and expansion of the nation’s workforce in the nuclear sector.

The 1st INAC Undergraduate Research Exhibition was held in person during INAC 2005, in Santos. The event was a landmark success, fostering meaningful exchanges between students and researchers while showcasing the latest advances presented at Brazil’s largest nuclear conference.

In this edition, the XI INAC Undergraduate Research Exhibition (XI JPoster) will be held in person during INAC 2026.

Submissions must fall within the specific areas defined by the events: ENFIR, ENAN, ENIN.

Submission is exclusively open to undergraduate students who are authors of the work, with mandatory co-authorship by their academic advisors.

Join us and be part of the future of nuclear science in Brazil!
