INAC 2026 – International Nuclear Atlantic Conference

The International Nuclear Atlantic Conference (INAC 2026) will take place from August 24 to 28, 2026, at the Escola de Guerra Naval (EGN), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Organized by the Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association (ABEN), INAC is recognized as the largest and most important event in the nuclear sector in Latin America, bringing together professionals from academia, industry, government, and research institutions from Brazil and abroad.

The first edition of the International Nuclear Atlantic Conference (INAC) was held in 2001. Since then, the conference has been organized every two years by the Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association (ABEN), becoming the largest and most important nuclear event in Latin America. For more than 25 years, INAC has served as a leading forum for technical exchange, professional networking, and institutional collaboration in the nuclear sector.

Under the theme “Nuclear Energy: Atoms for a Green Future,” INAC 2026 will provide an environment for the exchange of knowledge, technical discussions, and the strengthening of partnerships in areas related to nuclear energy and its applications in energy generation, health, agriculture, industry, environment, and technological innovation. The conference also contributes to the development of human resources and to the advancement of safe and sustainable nuclear technologies.

The technical program includes a set of traditional and well-established meetings that reflect the diversity of the nuclear field:

  • the XXIV Meeting on Reactor Physics and Thermal Hydraulics (ENFIR)

  • the XVII Meeting on Nuclear Applications (ENAN)

  • the IX Meeting on Nuclear Industry (ENIN)

  • the XI Junior Poster Technical Sessions, dedicated to undergraduate students

  • the XII ExpoINAC, the technical and commercial exhibition of the conference

In addition, INAC 2026 will host the Nuclear Ambassadors Award, an initiative promoted by ABEN to encourage communication and public engagement on the benefits and peaceful uses of nuclear technology. The award recognizes students, professionals, and educators who contribute to increasing public understanding of nuclear science and its role in sustainable development.

INAC has established itself as an important platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and collaboration across the nuclear community. The conference continues to play a key role in supporting innovation, strengthening cooperation, and promoting the safe and responsible use of nuclear technology.

We look forward to welcoming participants to Rio de Janeiro for an engaging and productive event.
